About the Friends

The Friends of the Village Library celebrates the library as a vital and essential community resource. The Friends raises funds to enhance the library and its collections, advocate for the library, encourage library use by people of all ages, and sponsor programs for adults and children.

The Friends work to the benefit of the library and the community it serves. Recent examples include funding a wireless internet connection for the library, creating a dedicated area for teen readers, expanding the large print book collection, and providing a comfortable reading space for parents to read to children.

The Friends includes residents of Cooperstown, Middlefield, Fly Creek and other communities, as well as part-time residents. Working together, the Friends help enhance the library’s role as a welcoming and indispensable community educational and information resource. We welcome you to become a member today!
